There are three kinds of grade. Heaven(천,天), Earth(지,地) and Good(양,良) grade. And there is other grade, “Cut grade” below Heaven, Earth and Good. Cut grade consists of 3 grades Big(대편, 大片), Middle(중편,中片), Small(소편,小片) regarding roots size. The character “小片” on the front of can is the size of dried ginseng. 300g-Big contains 18 roots of ginseng. 300g-Middle contains 21~29 roots. 300g-Small contains 34 roots. The rule of size is Korean standards of canned ginseng

● Red Ginseng
Korean red ginseng is made by repetitive steaming and drying many times to increase saponin(ginsenoside) in the ginseng. That process is done until total water in the fresh ginseng would be up to 14%. The color of Korean red ginseng is yellow-red and the process is sometimes done 9 times.
